Communication
º«¹úAV Primary is committed to using communication processes and approaches that build positive relationships and partnerships with everyone involved in the education and well-being of our students, and the operation and management of the school.
Curriculum Policies
Dress Code
At º«¹úAV Primary we uphold high expectations of our students, staff and community. This is reflected in the school dress code. Staff promote the dress code in a positive manner and encourage and support all students to comply with uniform requirements. At º«¹úAV Primary we have established a dress code for all students Pre-Primary to Year 6.
Students are expected to meet dress requirements unless an exemption has been granted. Parents/Carers are responsible to ensure their child/ren meet the dress code
requirements.
Healthy Food and Drink
Schools are required to adopt a whole school approach to healthy eating within the school community. Fundamental to this is the implementation of strategies which inform, support and promote healthy eating within the guidelines of the Department of Education Policy for Healthy Food and Drinks in Schools 2014.
Managing Student Behaviour Policy
At º«¹úAV Primary, a positive school culture is created and maintained through consistent whole school approaches that engage students in a culturally responsive, safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment. There is a strong focus on supporting the individual child to be responsible for their own attitude and behaviour.
As a community we have high expectations of one another based on the º«¹úAV Values and that everyone will accept their responsibilities for maintaining the positive school culture. When everyone in our community models and reinforces appropriate, respectful behaviours at all times, this has a powerful and positive impact on students.
At º«¹úAV Primary we adopt a restorative approach to managing student behaviour. A restorative approach includes proactive and preventive strategies as well as more targeted and individual interventions to support positive behaviour and strengthen student’s personal and social capabilities.
Sun Protection and Inclement Weather Policy
At º«¹úAV Primary we support the health and safety of our students and staff by providing education and procedures that promote sun protection. This policy aims to provide information and procedures that will be implemented during times of inclement weather including, but not limited to: heatwaves, wet weather and storms.
